Complete details are yet to come in but Le Régent’s IB results are, once again, excellent. Out of a maximum possible score of 45, the average is 35.5, against a world average of 30 and an international school average of under 33. The top Régent score was (as last year) 43, and all students, bar one, obtained their university offers. University destinations are varied, with confirmed acceptances including Oxford, London King’s, the rather fashionable IE Madrid, Leiden (the doyen of Dutch universities), Geneva, Claremont McKenna College in California, Lynn in Miami, and the Lausanne Hotel School (EHL). There are also a number of students taking a gap year – hardly surprising given the challenges students have had to face this year. Congratulations are therefore very much in order – as always, we might say, but this year more than ever. Le Régent did not close its doors but that did not make things easier for our graduates: all students followed the exam route and all were affected by the pandemic and the limitations it placed upon them. And all of them came through admirably. Well done to them all.
