Some of our French-speaking students in classes 6, 7 and 8 proudly took part in the Dicos D’or contest, a French Vocabulary competition usually for French “collèges & lycées” but open this year for the first time ever to schools abroad. The competitors had to learn how to spell and give the definition of or a synonym for 150 given words. This exercise in itself was very beneficial as students sharpened their vocabulary and improved their French overall.

Our teams put in a creditable performance and out of 1140 teams and all levels included scored as follows:

Class 6 (equivalent to the French “sixième”) came in 18
Class 7/8 (equivalent to the French “cinquième”) reached the 140th place

We are very proud of our students who practised for weeks to reach this level!
