An air of excitement filled the air on Sunday. Presented with a chilly and clear morning, a group of 13 students and three staff, loaded with ski/boarding gear and lots of enthusiastic anticipation, gathered in the foyer for the first ski adventure of the season. A great road trip playlist and a beautiful scenic drive ended in the gorgeous destination of Saas-Fee. For many, it was the first time back on skis (or boards) since the COVID-19 situation began and it was truly wonderful to be back on the slopes. A few words of warning about injury and a couple of cautious turns later, they were off. With lots of big smiles, whoops and cheers, all remembered the joy that sliding down the mountain brings. After 5 hours of fairly intense exploring, out-of-tune ski legs felt that it might be time to come home for a rest. It was a wonderful opportunity for all to relax and appreciate the amazing opportunities that come with living in such a beautiful part of the world. The stunning views, fresh air and the company of friends were a welcome balm for the soul after what has been a challenging few weeks.
